On Tuesday, April 1st, voters in Malden, Stoneham, Wakefield, Winchester, Reading and Melrose went to the polls and by a 7% margin elected Jason Lewis as our new State Senator for the 5th Middlesex District.
From the Melrose Free Press:
“I am very excited and humbled for this opportunity to serve the 5th Middlesex District in the state Senate,” Lewis said on election night.
“Once I’m sworn into the state Senate, my priorities will continue to be supporting the local communities, first,” he said. “And second, to continue to improve the quality and reduce the cost of health care. And third, to work and update our schools and work to update and reform our school funding formula so that all of our public schools receive adequate and equitable state funding.”
